Mowing of Parks – Park Maintenance

In light of rising operational costs, the Park District is continually assessing ways to maintain fiscal responsibility. This summer, parks with active athletic spaces will be mowed weekly, while smaller neighborhood parks will be mowed every other week. This approach aims to reduce costs and lessen environmental impact.

A new vendor has been contracted for mowing at 16 park locations, while several parks will continue to be maintained by Park District crews. The new vendor will operate under the supervision of Park District staff. It may take several mowing cycles for them to acclimate to the parks, and we appreciate your patience during this transition.
