Start the fall season out with your family and friends.  Enjoy a cool fall evening around a campfire in Commissioners Park.  Roast marshmallows, drink hot chocolate, play field games, enjoy a hayride, dance to music and listen to ghost stories.  Family fun for all!

Trivia Night

Do you think you know a lot about everything?  If you do, show off your knowledge of useful and useless information at the Frankfort Park District’s Trivia Night!  Get your friends together, pick a team name and be ready to answer as many questions as you can per round.  There will be 6 rounds of questions and teams can have up to 6 people.  The winning team will receive a cash prize of $ 150.00.  A light dinner will be served.

Scarecrow Building Contest

Calling all scout groups, home owners associations, business members and families…Join the fourth annual Scarecrow Building Contest and decorate the Founders Community Center for Halloween.  The cross sticks will be provided by the Park District and will be available for pick-up starting August 17.  All entries are due by October 7.  Voting will run from October 12 - 26.  Voting will take place at the Founders Community Center office and on Facebook.com.  Remember to let your creative skills shine and construct some eye catching entries.

Halloween Haunting

Halloween Coloring Contest

Enter the Frankfort Park District’s coloring contest for a chance to win prizes.  Starting October 1, pick up a coloring sheet to bring home and color.  Return your finished masterpiece to the Park District with your name and phone number on the back and you will be entered into our contest.  All entries will be displayed at the Founders Community Center for everyone to enjoy.

Howl-A-Woof

Trick or Treat!!!  Bring your dog all dressed up for this costume competition, dog friendly games, bone yard hunt and trick or treating event.  Dogs will have the opportunity to “Trick or Treat” around the Bark Park so remember to bring your bags to collect all their goodies.  Dogs will also have a change to enter the costume contest and be judged on - Best Overall, Funniest and Scariest.  Families and all friendly dogs are welcome at this free, on-leash event.  An adult should accompany dog-owners under the age of 12.  While you are enjoying this event, please remember to sign up for the Bark Park.

Crafty Kids Day

Fall Wine Tasting

Join us for an evening of good times, good friends and great wines.  Let the experts at Wine Styles of Frankfort & Shorewood teach you about the many varieties of wine and beer you will taste.  There will be 50 different wines to sample and available to purchase that evening.  This fee includes wine tasting, hors d’oeuvres and a souvenir wine glass.  Pre-registration is required.  NO REGISTERATION will be taken at the door.  Space is limited, please register early. You must be 21 years or older to attend.

Mickey Mouse’s Birthday Celebration

Dinner with Santa

Celebrate the holidays by joining Santa and Frosty the Snowman for dinner.  Each child will have an opportunity to visit with Santa and receive a goody bag.  After your child has given Santa their “wish list”, enjoy some fun family entertainment.  Our dinner menu will include a slice of cheese pizza, cookie and a drink.  Children must be accompanied by an adult.  All participants must pre-register.  NO TICKETS will be sold at the door.  Space is limited, please register early.

Letters to Santa

Starting November 23, Santa’s mailbox will be displayed at the Founders Community Center.  Santa will personally write to each and every child who writes him a letter, provided that all letters are received by 5:00 pm on Wednesday, December 9.  Santa can only send letters to children who include the following: child’s full name, address, city, zip code and of course, their wish list!  Parents, please complete checklist when sending the letter.  Checklists will be available at the main office or on the park district website.

Holiday Coloring Contest

The Polar Express Storytime Train

ALL ABOARD…The Frankfort Park District would like to invite children and their parents to take this special train ride to the North Pole.  On the way to the “North Pole,” Santa’s elves will be busy making balloon animals while you enjoy listening to the “Polar Express” story.  When we reach the “North Pole”, we will find Santa Claus and bring him back with us on the train to the Hickory Creek Metra Station.  Enjoy holiday cookies and music on our way home.  A parent or guardian must accompany all children. 
Due to the popularity of this event, a maximum of six tickets per household are available to purchase at time of registration.

Polar Express Pajama Movie Night  New!

Dress in your pajamas and slippers and enjoy an evening of holiday fun.  The elves are planning some reindeer games and holiday crafts along with the Polar Express movie.  There will also be a very special guest in attendance for photos!  A bedtime snack of cookies, popcorn and hot chocolate will be served.
