Letters to Santa

Due Date: December 10 by 5:00 pm

Starting November 24, Santa’s mailbox will be displayed at the Founders Community Center. Santa will personally write to each and every child who writes him a letter, provided that all letters are received by 5:00 pm on Wednesday, December 10. Santa can only send letters to children who include the following: child’s full name, address, city, zip code and of course, their wish list! Parents, please complete checklist when sending the letter. Checklists will be available at the main office or on the park district website.

Holiday Coloring Contest

Due Date: December 17 by 5:00 pm
Enter the Frankfort Park District’s Holiday Coloring Contest for a chance to win prizes. 
Starting November 24, you can pick up or download a coloring sheet at the Founders Community Center or at www.frankfortparks.org. 
Return your finished masterpiece to the Park District with your name and phone number on the back and you will be entered into our contest. 
All entries will be displayed at the Founders Community Center for everyone to enjoy.

The Polar Express Storytime Train - SOLD OUT

FRANKFORT PARK DISTRICT RESIDENTS ONLY!

Registration Date: Saturday, November 1 / 9 am (doors open)

Founders Community Center (140 Oak Street)

Two forms of residency are required.  A driver’s license and tax bill or utility bill may be used.

ALL ABOARD…The Frankfort Park District would like to invite children and their parents to take this special train ride to the North Pole.  On the way to the “North Pole,” Santa’s elves will be busy making balloon animals while you enjoy listening to the “Polar Express” story.  When we reach the “North Pole”, we will find Santa Claus and bring him back with us on the train to the Tinley Park Train Station.  Enjoy cookies, juice and holiday music on our way home.  A parent or guardian must accompany all children.  Due to the popularity of this event, a maximum of six tickets per household are available to purchase at time of registration.

Reindeer Games  New!

Dress in your pajamas and slippers and join the Frankfort Park District for an evening of holiday fun and games.  The elves are planning some reindeer games and will hold a candy cane hunt around the Founders Room.  After all the fun and games, join the elves for a reading of some holiday favorites and watching a holiday movie.  A bedtime snack of cookies and juice will be served.

Join us for a special evening with your little girl at our annual Daddy/Daughter Dance.  Light refreshments will be served along with entertainment courtesy of a live DJ.  To capture your evening together, a professional photographer will be available to take formal pictures at an additional charge.  Register early, this event fills up quickly.  Pre-registration is required, NO TICKETS will be sold at the door.

Senior Valentine Luncheon

22nd Annual Family Fun Faire

Please join us for the annual T.E.A.M. Asset Family Faire featuring a wide variety of games and activities for all children to enjoy. Come out for a day of family fun! A FREE pancake breakfast will also be served from 9:00-10:00am! Springtime Crafty Kids Day

Egg Hunt with Peter

Grab your baskets and come to the Annual Egg Hunt.  The Frankfort Area Jaycees and the Frankfort Park District are again teaming together to bring the children a special holiday event.  Peter Cotton Tail will join them in the hunt for the eggs.  There will be specially marked eggs for prizes.  Every child will receive a bag of candy.

Super Dog Egg Hunt

Egg hunting has gone to the dogs!  Dash around the Bark Park at Commissioners Park with your dog collecting treat-filled eggs and help your dog sniff out the golden egg to win a prize.  Line up early because this hunt will be over in a flash.  After the hunt, visit with our dog friendly vendors and get your photo with Peter Cotton Tail.  Families and all friendly dogs are welcome at this free, on-leash event.  An adult should accompany dog-owners under the age of 12.  While you are enjoying the hunt, please remember to sign up for the 2015 Bark Park season.

10th Annual Family Fun Fly

Spring Wine Tasting

Wine Styles of Frankfort & Shorewood

Join us for an evening of good times, good friends and great wines.  Let the experts at Wine Styles of Frankfort & Shorewood teach you about the many varieties of wine you will taste.  There will be 50 different wines to sample and available to purchase that evening.  This fee includes wine tasting, hors d’oeuvres and a souvenir wine glass.  Pre-registration is required.  NO REGISTRATION will be taken at the door.  Space is limited, please register early.

Celebrating Earth Day

Time to do some spring cleaning and what a perfect place to start is with the kids stuff.  They probably have heaps and piles of toys they’ve forgotten about, lost interest in or just don’t use anymore because they outgrew them.  If this sounds familiar then maybe you should sign your kids up for our 6th annual Kids Garage Sale to help you and your kids clean out their closets and toy rooms!  This is a KID’S ONLY garage sale!  Parents please don’t be tempted to set your own stuff out.  Children are not to be left unattended; an adult should be with them at all times.

Frankfort Community Garage Sale

$10 per home

The Frankfort Park District is sponsoring a community wide garage sale on Saturday, June 6.  Each registered participant’s address will be included on a list of all participating homes.  This list will be available at the park office, website and Facebook the week of the sale.  The park district will advertise the sale in local newspapers, on-line sites and A-frame signs throughout the community.  Each participating home will receive a packet including a garage sale sign, balloons, home list, map of Frankfort and garage sale selling tips.  These packets will be available for pick-up at the Founders Community Center starting May 28.
