Lake County, IL

This unique one-day trip highlights all of the wonderful places to shop and indulge in nearby Lake County, Illinois. Our trip begins with a morning arrival to Lamb’s Farm Visitor Center for an overview of their mission and history. We will then take some time for shopping at the wonderful nearby shops including a bakery, pet shop and thrift store you won’t want to miss. We will enjoy lunch at the beautiful Magnolia Café and Bakery, followed by a tour at the North Shore Distillery, a stop to The Popcorn Factory Store and the wonderful R&V Italian Deli. This trip will be sure to offer something for everyone. Space is limited, so please register as soon as possible.

Lincolnshire, IL

Join us for a wonderful afternoon of lunch and live theatre as we travel to the Marriott Theatre. We will begin our day with a wonderful lunch including a main course selection of a stuffed chicken breast or baked tilapia, garden vegetable, potato or rice, fresh baked bread, dessert and a choice of beverage. You will then be treated to a wonderful live performance of “On the Town”. This heartwarming musical provides the story of three American sailors during a 24-hour leave who set out to see the famous sights and find romance before they report back to the ship. The musical score for the performance proves that “New York, New York, it’s a helluva town!” Space is limited and since this is a ticketed event, refunds are not available.

Welcome fall, think spring! More than 200 varieties of daffodils, tulips, alliums, and specialty bulbs will be available to purchase. There will also be Mums, Asters, Peonies, potted Amaryllis, and paper white Narcissus, as well as "Bulb Boost" bulb fertilizer.   “Roving” horticulturists and staff will be on hand to answer your questions and offer up bulb tips.  Other festivities include live music and over 20 vendors selling  jams, herbs, and vegetables, gourmet baked goods, chocolate, honey and more!  Before the festival, we will enjoy a tram tour of the gardens.

This outstanding restaurant offers a full lunch menu and strives to offer the tastiest dishes prepared using the freshest of ingredients. Be sure to ask about their famous Flower Pot Salad. Following lunch, you will have an opportunity to browse the Pottery Shop which offers a vast array of handcrafted gifts, accessories and their namesake hand-painted pottery. This wonderful shop is located inside the renovated 100 year-old farmhouse and offers something for everyone!

Come out and witness first hand just how talented these horses really are.  This show features an exquisite combination of synchronized light, color and music for a show that will leave you amazed.  If you don’t believe horses can dance, be prepared for a shocking surprise.  This show is highly entertaining, with an exotic bird show following the performance.

The Goodman Theatre, Chicago

Charles Dickens’ timeless tale of hope and redemption comes to life at the Goodman Theatre!  Experience the electrifying arrival of the ghosts, the jubilant musical numbers, the "Bah Humbugs," and Scrooge's joyful discovery of life and love in a way that's more extraordinary than ever.  Following the show, you will have plenty of free time to do some shopping and grab a bite to eat on State Street.  There is also the Christkindlmarket; a German American holiday market on Daley Plaza featuring traditional art, handmade gifts, German foods, music, and the site of the official Chicago Christmas tree.  This is one holiday trip you won’t want to miss!

Join us for the 81st annual Purdue Christmas Show! You will take part in an afternoon filled with seasonal music, dance, and entertainment that will leave you with an uplifting Christmas spirit. This production is performed by the Purdue Musical Organization in the Elliott Hall of Music; one of the largest proscenium theatres in the world.   Dinner will be at Grinders Restaurant & Pub with a variety of excellent dishes.
