Preschool / Prairie Care
Registration for ALL early childhood programs that run from September 2012 through May 2013 will begin on Monday, January 30, 2012, for in-district residents. Non-resident registration will begin Monday, February 6. Registration takes place at the Founders Community Center, 140 Oak Street, Frankfort, and can only be done IN PERSON. On-line registration will NOT be available..
A $100 non-refundable registration fee is due at the time of registration. $50 will be applied to your September tuition payment. A physical is required for all Early Childhood classes before starting school.
Early Childhood classes are held at the Puent Educational Building, 400 W. Nebraska St., Frankfort. Call the Park District Office at 815-469-9400 if you have any questions or would like to visit our program when it is in session.

WEE WORKS
This twice-weekly program for young children is perfect for those anxious to meet friends. The morning will be filled with playtime, arts & crafts, stories, music and snack time. The child must be 2.5 years old by September 1, 2012. Being toilet trained is not mandatory. A physical is required.

PLAY SCHOOL
This program provides time for young children to learn how to interact with their peers. Fun activities help the children learn to share and listen. Colors, numbers and the alphabet are also introduced. The child must be 3 years old by September 1, 2012, and must be toilet trained. A physical is required.

PREP SCHOOL
This program is for children who will be 4 years old by September 1, 2012. The curriculum includes age appropriate activities for language arts, math, science, fine motor skills and socialization. Field trips are also taken. A physical is required.

STEPPING STONES (KINDER-BRIDGE)
This class is for children who will be 5 years old by March 1, 2013. The focus of Stepping Stones will be on the school readiness skills of language arts, math, science and fine motor skills. Emphasis is also placed on improving socialization skills. Fields trips are taken, too, and a physical is required.

PRAIRIE CARE: A PARK PARTNERSHIP PROGRAM
This partnership between the Park District and Frankfort School District 157-C provides before and after school care for 157-C students in grades K-5. The program is housed at Grand Prairie School, 10480 Nebraska Street, Frankfort, for Kindergarten, First and Second Graders and at Chelsea School, 22265 S. 80th Avenue, Frankfort, for Third, Fourth and Fifth Graders. Care is available from 6:30 a.m. until the start of school at each building and again from after school until 6:30 p.m. Half-day care is also available on early dismissal days. PLEASE NOTE: Registration is always two weeks prior to the week needed. No late payments will be taken for the first two weeks of school.
