Registration for ALL ongoing early childhood programs that run from September 2010 through May 2011 began in February 2010. We are currently taking registration at the Founders Center, 140 Oak St., Frankfort. Registration can only be done IN PERSON. Please contact the Park about availability of classes before coming to register. On-line registration is not available.

A $100 non-refundable registration fee is due at the time of registration. $50 will be applied to your September tuition payment. A physical is required for all Early Childhood classes before starting school. Call the Park at 815-469-9400 if you have any questions or would like to visit our program when it is in session. Early Childhood classes are held at the Puent Educational Building, 400 W. Nebraska St., Frankfort.

WEE WORKS

This twice weekly program for young children is perfect for those anxious to meet friends. The morning will be filled with play time, arts & crafts, stories, music and snack time. The child must be 2.5 years old by September 1, 2010. Being toilet trained is not mandatory. A physical is required.

Times:            9:30-11:00 a.m.
Maximum:      10
Fee:              $80 / NR $85 per month

PLAY SCHOOL

This program provides time for young children to learn how to interact with their peers. Fun activities help the children learn to share and listen. Colors, numbers and the alphabet are also introduced. The child must be 3 years old by September 1, 2010, and must be toilet trained. A physical is required.

Times:           9:00-11:00 a.m. OR 12:00-2:00 p.m.
Maximum:     18
Fee:              $90 / NR $95 per month

PREP SCHOOL

This program is for children who will be 4 years old by September 1, 2010. The curriculum includes age appropriate activities for language arts, math, science, fine motor skills and socialization. Field trips are also taken. A physical is required.

Times:           8:45-11:15 a.m. OR 12:15-2:45 p.m.
Maximum:     21
Fee:              $120 / NR $135 per month

STEPPING STONES (KINDER-BRIDGE)

This class is for children who will be 5 years old by March 1, 2011. The focus of Stepping Stones will be on the school readiness skills of language arts, math, science and fine motor skills. Emphasis is also placed on improving socialization skills. Fields trips are taken, too, and a physical is required.

Times:           8:50-11:20 a.m. OR 12:20-2:50 p.m.
Maximum:     14
Fee:              $150 / NR $155  per month

PRAIRIE CARE: A PARK PARTNERSHIP PROGRAM

This partnership between the Park District and Frankfort School District 157-C provides before and after school care for 157-C students in grades K-5. The program is located at Grand Prairie School and is available as early as 6:30 a.m. until the start of school and again after school until 6:30 p.m. Prairie Care is also available on early dismissal days.

PLEASE NOTE: REGISTRATION IS ALWAYS TWO WEEKS PRIOR TO THE WEEK NEEDED.

A parent meeting will be held for those that are new to Prairie Care.  This meeting will take place at the Founders Center on Monday, August 2nd at 7:00 p.m.
