Commissioners Park Commissioners Park is Frankfort Park District's largest site at 60 acres. The park features the community-designed Fort Frankfort playground which received the "Governors Hometown Award" and remains one of the most popular playgrounds in Frankfort. Also located at Commissioners Park is a 1-mile walking path, tennis courts, a skate park, disc golf, softball/baseball fields, soccer fields and a sledding hill. The park is also home to the Splash Park and the award winning Frankfort Bark Park which opened in 2007. Operation Playground which is a 501C3 organization run by volunteers raises funds and has helped make many of these amenities possible. Also new in 2007 were two concession/washroom facilities, one near the Splash Park and one near the baseball fields, thanks to a partnership with the Village of Frankfort. |
