Bark Park

Frankfort Bark Park sees its first visitors, May 19, 2007.

On Saturday, May 19, 2007, the Frankfort Bark Park committee cut the grand opening ribbon for the Bark Park during a celebratory event that marked the public opening of the park. Committee chairman Phil Simmons and his crew of volunteers welcomed over one hundred people and their furry friends to the state of the art dog park which features a gated, key card access system and both small and large dog play areas. Operation Playground will continue to raise funds for the Bark Park in order to run water lines out to the dog park, as well as adding a shelter to the entrance area. Operation Playground is the registered 501C3 charitable organization which built Fort Frankfort and has donated to other Frankfort Park District projects.
